Sensei Kirsten Weisbeck

Kirsten is in the midst of her sophomore year at RIT, in the pre-medical degree program called Medical Informatics. She hopes to complete her pre-med undergrad at RIT, and move on to medical school and become a pediatrician. She started judo at the age of 15, and fell in love immediately. She has done judo for almost 4 years now, and she decided to remain close to home and go to school at RIT so she could continue her pursuit towards a successful judo career at Bushido Kai Judo Club. In the summer of 2007, Kirsten volunteered as a counselor at the YMCA Huguenot International Judo Camp, and hopes to counsel at this awesome camp from now on. Her personal goals for judo include excelling in Kata and earning a spot on the 2012 Olympic team, continue to better her Shiai technique, always try and teach others what has helped her become successful, consistently improve her tournament record, and to never stop striving to learn more about the sport that constantly shapes her life.
